Job Description
Job Title: Principlal IC Design Engineer
Location: London
Salary: GBP35,000-GBP50,000
Purpose:
To enhance my clients competitive position by delivering custom
integrated circuits and contributing to ‘stakeholder’ integratedcircuits
(designed by partner companies),
· To significantly contribute to our custom analogue and
mixed signal IC development activities between the stages of
feasibility studies, schematic design (including simulation) and
layout,
· To support other engineers in contributing circuit designs
· To work alongside marketing, systems and product design
teams to help specify new devices and identify appropriate
technologies, providing specialist IC guidance,
· To identify and interface with suppliers and partners needed to
complete the IC design, delivery and test processes.
· Support Lab evaluations during test and de-bug phases.
Person Specification:
Skills and
knowledge:
· Experience of IC design tools and methodologies , especially
Cadence experience
· Familiarity with each stage of an analogue IC design specification,
implementation and simulation/test is desirable
· Familiarity with test methods, equipment and de-bug techniques is
desirable.

Key
competencies:
· An excellent ability to design low noise and high precision analogue
or mixed signal circuits for integration,
· An excellent ability in circuit theory , circuit architectures and a
good understanding of device physics
· A good understanding of the capabilities and limits of contemporary
linear and non-linear circuit simulation methods,
· Experience of formal and less formal processes for top-level IC
design integration and the management of technical risk,
· An ability to communicate well with experts from other disciplines,
· A good ability in written communication,
· Desirably, some ability in small-scale digital design, implementation
and test.
· A thorough understanding of IC process technology, especially
CMOS and BiCMOS.
· Methodical approach to design and root-cause analysis during debug
and Silicon/Product Evaluation
· Efficient use of necessary IC design tools and methodologies,
especially Cadence.
Work
experience:
· An IC Design Engineer position in an analogue or ideally mixedsignal
IC design team
