AUTO ELECTRICIAN - Hatfield - Hertfordshire

Our client is seeking an Auto Electrician to carry out auto electrical installations and repairs within a fleet solutions based organisation. This role is based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire.
Responsibilities:
To retro fit out vehicles in a proper and economical manner using equipment provided.
To repair and maintain HCC Vehicles and third party repairs to a high standard, i.e. night heaters and electrical repairs.
To diagnose faults and test vehicles utilising equipment available and using recognised test procedures and techniques. Including road testing where deemed necessary. To drive in a manner within the parameters of the law. To follow operator’s licence process and procedure to safe guard the company’s licence.
To observe, recognise and report on defects and/or symptoms of impending failure. Identification of any additional defects found while carrying out instructed repair/s should be brought to the Charge hand or Workshop Controller’s attention.
To order from the parts department all necessary replacement parts, once authorised, ensuring that no parts are fitted to vehicles other than those required to complete the work.
To attend, when required, customer and or supplier meetings.
To record, as required, vehicle electrical diagram’s and specifications.
To carry out work to acceptable Company and Industry standards.
To ensure all time recording of attendance and time on jobs are correctly recorded.
To present the Company and our services in a professional manner at all times.
To ensure at all times that equipment and tools are kept in a clean, safe condition and to report any shortages or damage/faulty equipment to the Workshop Team Leader.
Essential Criteria
Substantial experience in Auto Electrician fault diagnosis and resultant repairs, including the use of electronic diagnostic equipment
Previous experience on a fleet within a franchised dealership
Electrical/Engineering/Woodworking/Fitting type background
General knowledge of LCV’s
Qualified to a minimum of C&G Auto Electrician or equivalent qualification/experience
Candidates must have a Positive, proactive and flexible outlook, ability to produce accurate work to tight deadlines under pressure and have a full clean driving licence.
Salary is negotiable depending on experience plus excellent benefits.
